In Macro Photography there are many different approaches some work in the field and some work in the studio. I, prefer the studio it’s a controlled enviroment where I can test, learn and refine my images. This photo represents a checkpoint in my Macro journy as I purchased a piece of machinery called a Stackshot (mechanical sliding rail) for my camera. I prepared, staged the beetle and taught myself how to use the equipment. The result speaks for its self here the richness of the black detail on the head and thorax combined with the contrast found on the orange brown adbomen.
